Hello, my name is Graciela and I have been working as a Peer Support Specialist with the non-profit organization NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness). I started with NAMI in 2010 and have been through several NAMI Walks fundraisers along the years. I have used what I have learned with NAMI in my personal life with adjusting my coping skills, communicating with others and dealing with depression due to my Bi-polar disorder. I was diagnosed with Bi-polar disorder in 2003 and feel that I have several years of lived experience.

What can members expect to take away from sessions with you?

In my sessions we will have an open communication with one another. I am an open book for anything in relation to my lived experience with Bi-polar disorder. I am open for questions and can share what I have learned in my personal experience of living with Bi-polar disorder.

Explain to members what areas you feel are your biggest strengths?

My biggest strengths are listening and sharing my story with others. I am also very good at coping and understanding how others with Bi-polar disorder feel. I am great at communication and deep conversations that will help others to discuss what they are going through.
