Hello, my name is Jacque, (pronounced Jackie). I am a certified Health and Wellness Peer Supporter. I have been in the mental health field of work for almost a decade now. I have lived experience with over 21 years of active recovery, staying clean and sober myself.  I understand the struggles, triumphs, and many obstacles we face while being duel diagnosed. I’ve sponsored women and men with drug and alcohol dependency and have led them towards full recovery from substance use, while showing them how to live healthy, happy productive lives. At the age of 26, I began showing signs of mental illness, and I experienced my first of many hospitalizations at behavioral health units. At the age of 36, I was finally diagnosed properly with Bipolar l. Throughout the years, I have also been diagnosed with PTSD, major anxiety disorder, and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). I have experienced trauma and grief beyond belief. During my years of working in the mental health field, I have assisted in mentoring people who live with major depressive disorder, Bipolar l and ll, victims of sexual assault, people with PTSD, and trauma. Also, people with major mood swings and those who are grieving. There have been many times where I have helped others with suicide prevention and people with thoughts of suicide. I have an adult daughter who is developmentally disabled with Cerebral Palsy. She is thriving and has overcome many obstacles that she has faced in her lifetime. I understand the challenges and heartache that a parent goes through while raising a beautiful child into a wonderful adult.
