Hello! My name is Melissa I’m a Peer Support Specialist with experience working in healthcare since 2018, helping adults and families. Originally from Washington and raised in California, I became the oldest of three when my parents separated and became a young mother at 16. These early life challenges taught me to mature quickly, and despite facing trauma, I developed an open mind, kindness, and deep empathy. I believe healing starts from within and that a positive, optimistic perspective can help overcome life’s struggles. I’m passionate about lifelong personal development and I use my experiences to help others on their own healing journeys. My personal journey with mental health began when my son was in grade school, and I learned he was autistic.

What can members expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, you can expect a variety of things, including a safe space where you can be heard without judgment. It’s important that you feel comfortable sharing openly. We’ll also discuss what led you to seek counseling and begin setting goals and expectations for your unique journey. I believe that in mental health, one size does not fit all, so we’ll work together to create a plan tailored to you. Consistency is key to making progress, and remember, healing takes time.

Explain to members what areas you feel are your biggest strengths?

I believe my biggest strengths lie in my ability to listen with empathy and offer non-judgmental support. My personal experiences have helped me develop a deep understanding of the challenges people face, and I strive to create a safe and open environment where individuals feel heard and valued. I also have a strong commitment to personalized care—recognizing that everyone’s journey is different, and that healing is a process that takes time and consistency. My goal is to support each individual in a way that feels right for them, helping them work toward their goals at their own pace.
